URGEHAL To Embark On Headlining US Tour This Fall

Posted in News

Tour-Poster-2009-final

Norwegian black metallers URGEHAL are about to strike the US with a headlining tour this fall.

Here’re the details and tour dates:

Back in 1992 T. Nefas and Enzifer brought to life a bestial black metal war machine and named it Urgehal. Now, over 15 years after its unholy foundation the same warmachine claims new territory. Urgehal celebrated their 15 years anniversary in 2007 with releasing an anniversary album entitled “The Eternal Eclipse – 15 years of Satanic Black Metal”.

Still proving there are True Norwegian Black Metal bands left from
the early 90’s. 2 Demo recordings and 6 albums made Urgehal to one of the most important underground acts ever! A band that never wanted to be recognized by the major audience and therefore never targeted their music towards any commercial paradigms of metal, but stayed true to their faith in the old underground mentality.

At this very moment Urgehal are preparing their new album and they will
again prove their existence of demonstrative and pounding darkness. This is stripped down and for real. Await utter Norwegian Darkness.
Black Metal has not become a major movement as many may believe, what has become big is a new neo black metal movement with solely no roots in the real past and real values of the fundamental darkness, hate and misanthropy which black metal is built upon.

The real black metal is still underground, because it’s too harsh and ugly to be swallowed by the big audience. And it will always stay that way. A decade later there are few left, and who will stand the next?

Originally released in 1999. Southern Lord exposes North American Black
Metal fans to Norwegians URGEHAL. Making “Through Thick Till Death”
domestically available for the first time in America.

Urgehal, with Spearheadl and Eyes of Noctum

*with Black Anvil and Villains

New HATEBREED Song Streaming Online

Posted in News

hatebreed
A new track from HATEBREED’s forthcoming self-titled record, “In Ashes They Shall Reap”, is now streaming on the band’s MySpace page. The album is scheduled for release on September 29 through E1 Music, as a CD, digital download, vinyl and special edition with a bonus 65-minute DVD.

Hatebreed track listing:
01. Become The Fuse
02. Not My Master
03. Between Hell And A Heartbeat
04. In Ashes They Shall Reap
05. Hands Of A Dying Man
06. Everyone Bleeds Now
07. No Halos For The Heartless
08. Through The Thorns
09. Every Lasting Scar
10. As Damaged As Me
11. Words Became Untruth
12. Undiminished
13. Merciless Tide
14. Pollution Of The Soul
15. Escape (New Diehard Edit)

HATEBREED frontman Jamey Jasta comments, “This is our fifth studio album and it’s a monster! We’ve survived some pretty rough times and the music shows it. There was no reason to change the recipe that our fans know and love but we added a few brutal new ingredients and we’re more than amped on the results. Violence is a given!

“I feel this new album is a true crossover record in the sense that our metal and hardcore roots are evenly represented throughout it. There’s still the fast East Coast tuned-down hardcore that people know and love, yet there are metal influences that shine through on almost every song. The speed is there, which we even kicked up a few notches on some of the songs, but the groove and slower tempos are represented. On ‘Hatebreed’, there is a violent mix of straight forward anthem headbangers, fast thrashers and brutal breakdown after breakdown. There’s something for everyone.”

The album was produced by Chris “Zeuss” Harris at Planet Z studios in Hadley, Massachusetts and features the return of original guitar player Wayne Lozinak (who recently replaced Sean Martin) alongside core members Chris Beattie (bass), Matt Byrne (drums), Frank Novinec (guitar) and Jasta.

HATEBREED is currently headlining its U.S. Decimination Of The Nation tour, which runs through September.
