The song comes off their latest record Above, which marks the groups return to their black metal roots. Lead singer and guitarist Vorph spoke a little bit recently about the style of the new video:
“If your favourite video clip from SAMAEL is ‘Baphomet’s Throne’ you’re going to love the new ‘Black Hole’ video. It’s black and white with lots of live footage taken from the latest Swiss shows, all mixed up with various designs and animations. It has been filmed and edited by Sergeï Ulyanov, who happens to be the bass player of Makro’s death/doom metal band SLUDGE. We’ve tried to come up with something simple which would fit the intensity and aggressiveness of the song. The video is very dense and hard to digest at once. You’ve been warned!”
Norway’s west-coast black metal legends Immortal have just posted the title-track from their forthcoming release All Shall Fail on their official MySpace page.

For all you ax-slinging, cash-flow positive, Emperor fanatics: here’s your chance to own one of Ihsahn’s very own Jackson DK1 guitars!
Here’s the info we’ve received from Ihsahn’s camp:
“Over the years, Ihsahn’s guitar-collection has grown considerably, especially since he started working with Ibanez, and space is becoming an issue. His old Esp is already on its way to the Rockheim museum in Trondheim and now we’ve decided to auction the trusted Jackson DK1.
This Jackson Dinky has served as one of Ihsahn’s main guitars for over a decade both in the studio and on the road. It can be heard on such Emperor recordings as IX Equilibrium, Prometheus and even seen on the Live DVD Emperial Live Ceremony, several Peccatum albums and his first solo album; The Adversary, doing it’s last service on the first Emperor reunion shows in 2006.
The guitar is in very good condition and has few cosmetic flaws. Comes in original case and can be signed depending on the buyers wishes.”

Brooklyn, NY’s doom/post rock experimentalists A STORM OF LIGHT recently shot a startling new video for the song “Tempest,” the third track off their upcoming new full-length, Forgive Us Our Trespasses.
The video was shot in HD at an undisclosed location in Brooklyn and directed by ASOL guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist Josh Graham (Neurosis visuals, Blood And Time, Battle Of Mice). The hauntingly textured, black and white performance video reflects the lyrics of the song, which essentially revolve around the inevitable contamination of the air, sea and earth.
Follow this link to watch the new video for “Tempest.”
Said Graham of “Tempest,” “This is one of the heavier songs on the new record, and we really thought this would make a good video.
It’s a performance video with a twist. Over the course of the song we basically deteriorate into the chaotic footage of a dying planet.”
Forgive Us Our Trespasses is scheduled for release on Tuesday, September 22nd in the US via Neurot Recordings
A STORM OF LIGHT features Graham, bassist/vocalist Domenic Seita (formerly of Tombs and Asea), drummer/percussionist Andy Rice (formerly of Sinking Ships) and guitarist/keyboardist Joel Hamilton (Book Of Knots, Battle Of Mice), who also recorded the album. The band will perform live at a very special record release show in New York City this October with Biclops and Naked Heroes at Ace Of Clubs. All are encouraged to attend (admission is free).
